Hello my followers! All... 2 of you. I realized I haven't posted anything since October, so I thought I'd do a quick blog to catch people up on the things we've been doing. I also realize that I very lazily post a few pictures here and there on Facebook, so here's an update letting everybody know what's been going on and the plans for the rest of the year.
First, a quick milestone. Allie and I made our initial attempt at moving to London one year ago, so I think we can officially say we've "moved" to London a year ago. Yay!
As most of you already know, we didn't settle in until late May due to the Visa complications. But, it's been a year nonetheless.
Allie and I moved to London to help setup a new office in London for the company I work for, CAKE. A lot has definitely happened. Although it felt like a slow process in the beginning, we've got some great momentum already and the office is growing steadily. When I first started in May, I joined Paul and Felipe. Now we've gained 2 new Account Managers, a Director of Sales and another American from the Development team. We have a new Biz Dev rep joining us in April and I'm looking to add another Account Manager shortly after. Business is good!
As of right now, the agreed plan with CAKE is to move back to the US at the end of the year. We hope to bring the team up to speed by then and leave it in good hands to continue to grow. Already, my team is thriving in their new positions and we're making some great momentum in other parts of the world.
Speaking of other parts of the world, I just returned from India last night on a week-long work trip. I flew out the night of the 15th and arrived Sunday afternoon with my co-worker Elizabeth from the sales team. We were joined shortly after by a newer member of the US team. The 3 of us made good use of our time meeting with new clients and attending a conference trying to drum up new business. We're confident that there will be plenty of new business.
For those curious, this is what a typical day at a conference looks like for us. We're among several other technology companies and advertising networks all looking to find new clients or partners.

Here are a few random pictures from the road.
Anywho, I'll cut it short here. I may do another blog shortly about our trip to Oxford and Bath seeing I never wrote about either.
I should also mention that the idea of moving to India for work has also been an option. I brought it up to Allie now that I've been there and have experienced a little bit about it.... She's still a firm NO. Sorry Jeff :-)
Great shots of the streets of India.
